In other, actual news...

I update rarely enough that I figure I should probably make a "real" post as well.

Not a whole lot to tell, really. I spent the day with Paul today and had a lot of fun. We will miss you, and best of luck. We alternately messed around on the Xbox and on my computer (some of which was very frustrating actually...I'll get to that in a minute). Other Paul (Nogib) hooked me up with the Live demo for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat last week, and I've been playing that fairly frequently. I actually did pretty well today when Paul and I played, I managed to get a medal for excellent sniping, and in another game I (initially) did really well as a Spec Ops soldier. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do about that game. Part of me really wants to get it...but another part of me thinks I should wait for the 360 version...and another part entire wonders if I'll even have time to play once school is underway. I guess all these questions will work themselves out next month. We also played a bit of Halo 2...but that was sort've a mixed bag. We had a lot of people quit on us, and we played a brief (and only mildly entertaining) custom match with someone from my friends list, but his little brother was on, and that kid was seriously a moron. He kept calling everyone "jew-bags". -__-

Anyway...

On the computer, I watched Paul play Mugen for a while, and played a little myself...but I also offered to burn some CDs for him, and that's where the frustration came into play. Something is up with Nero, and I'm not entirely sure what...but it crashed on us like three seperate times. I think in the future the solution is to just let Nero do its thing and not do ANYTHING else on the computer while it's burning. I ended up wasting two CD-Rs just cause it crashed when I tried to open things while it was burning.

In other news, and Erin I forgot to mention this to you (twice), our...um...ex-cat came back. There's this cat named Eve that a friend of my mother captured on New Year's Eve. Apparently this friend captures wild cats and spays them or something. Anyway, she caught Eve, and didn't have room to take care of her, and my Mom wanted a second cat (our cat Tiger died some time ago and for a while it was just Velvet, who herself is like 17 years old) so we took Eve in. Eve was probably abused as a kitten or something, cause for the first few weeks she just hid inside the walls of our basement, and once she finally chilled out enough to come upstairs and stuff, she still ran at top speed if there was any sudden motion. But we had her for several months, until one day she ran away. Yuki, the kitten from a few posts ago in effect was the replacement for Eve. Anyway, I think I'm rambling a bit...the point is that about a week ago my mom thought she saw Eve in the backyard, and decided that if it was her, she was going to try to get her back. So they set a trap up, and it turns out that it was Eve, and now she's back. We'll see how this goes, I guess. Mom coaxed her upstairs, calling her for like 10 minutes, and when I went up there she smelled my hand a little and let me pet her, but when Yuki came prancing up to her she freaked out and ran away hissing. Considering that Yuki is about a third the size of Eve, I found that pretty funny.

That's about it though. Things are going fine. I've been studying hiragana the last few nights, and I hope to have it all memorized by the time classes start. Maybe even katakana ^_^v

Yeah, I talked with mom about the Eve thing. I had sort of figured that she had convinced herself to love Eve because she was stuck with her but after she was gone and replaced by what seems to be a far superior cat (Yuki) that Eve would be all but forgotten. So now she's around again and come on, how is she going to measure up to Yuki or Velvet? Running away was the smartest thing she ever did. That way, maybe she could have ended up at a house where the competition wasn't so fierce. She's out of her league.
